When you join College Vision you’ll be matched with an experienced college admissions coach who will act as a mentor, facilitator, and guide throughout your high school years to create your to college admission.

Your 10th grade year is a pivotal time in your high school career since you’ll be halfway to college soon. The decisions you make now will affect your chances of getting accepted to the college of your choice and we’re here to help make those decisions easier and better.

Objectives of Our College Admissions Coaching Program for 10th Graders

Your College Vision coach will help you achieve a set of objectives for your sophomore year. While each student is unique, our program for tenth graders generally involves the following core objectives:

  • Discussions about personal interests and career options.
  • Exploration of college choices and options.
  • Taking a leadership role in an organization or activity.
  • Beginning the process of gathering and organizing college information, materials, and correspondence.
  • Preparation for campus visits. (It’s not too early!)
  • Development of a focused strategy for student-athletes and those with special talents.
  • Study skills training and development.
  • Emphasis on maintaining and strengthening GPA.
  • Evaluating high school curriculum requirements for targeted colleges.
  • Engaging in the decision-making process and learning to consider options carefully, act more deliberately, and take responsibility for decisions, behavior, and performance.
  • Getting to know your high school counselor, and vice versa. (Counselors and teachers enjoy writing college recommendation letters for students they know well.)
